Person-Centered Systems Transformation
Intentional Inquiry supports systems reform efforts through meaningfully engaging the people, who have been most underserved from system supports and thus experience the most disparities, in the redesign process to center their experiences, needs, and hopes.
Colorado's Behavioral Health Reform
Intentional Inquiry led a team through the Civic Consulting Collaborative to engage people from across Colorado who represent subpopulations that experience some of the most significant behavioral health disparities. Through a statewide summit and 6 regional meetings, this process resulted in a person-driven vision for Colorado's care coordination system and the new Behavioral Health Administration. Subsequently, Intentional Inquiry led a Care Coordination work group, comprised of behavioral health professionals and individuals with behavioral health challenges, to co-create OwnPath, Colorado's virtual platform for behavioral health and social determinants of health resource navigation.
Increasing Equity within Colorado's Home & Community Based Services (HCBS)
Intentional Inquiry co-led a team through the Civic Consulting Collaborative, in partnership with CREA Results, to understand the barriers for underserved communities in accessing HCBS benefits and the potential solutions to remove or address these barriers. The hypothesis was that trusted community organizations were unaware of these benefits, so we facilitated learning exchanges with community-driven organizations across the state. Based on these community health equity champions' insights, we recruited some of these experts and others to lead the development of informational materials, webpage, and enrollment guide for potential HCBS members and their support systems. The HCBS team continues to expand the HCBS network with more community-based organizations from across the state; and they are working with the agencies that administer these benefits to increase their capacity to engage their community equitably.
